While studying at the University of Rijeka, you have the opportunity to receive the support you need. The aim of the support is to equalise opportunities and enable you to fulfil your study obligations as well as to function as independently as possible during your academic journey.
Peer support activities are provided by fellow students and are not a substitute for personal assistance or care.

Student assistants<\/p>\n\t\t\t
Student assistants<\/strong> provide direct support according to the pre-defined individual needs of students requireing such assistance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Support may include, for example:<\/p>\n\n\n\n How to become a student assistant?<\/p>\n\t\t\t Each academic year, the University Counselling Centre seeks students who will provide peer support to students with disabilities at the University of Rijeka’s constituent units.<\/p>\n\n\n\n With the help of STUDENT ASSISTANTS,<\/strong> students with disabilities can overcome organisational, spatial, and administrative obstacles that exist in the higher education system in the Republic of Croatia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The role of a student assistant is a paid <\/strong>position.<\/p>\n\n\n\n If you are interested, apply<\/a>! <\/p>\n\n\n\n <\/p>\n\n\n\n Student Mentors<\/p>\n\t\t\t Besides the help of a student assistant, you also have the option of having a student mentor.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Student mentors are senior students at all faculties of the University of Rijeka who help students (most often first-year students) of the same study programme in adapting to studies and student life. The support is defined according to your individual needs, but is usually provided in the winter semester of the first year.
